Missions Update: Christmas Together

January 16, 2025

It has become a tradition to organize a Christmas celebration for the Ukrainian community that lives in The Woodlands area. This year was the third straight year that Ukraine for Christ has hosted "Ukrainian Christmas Together."

This year we had over 500 Ukrainians in attendance. Half of them immigrated to the USA over three years ago and the rest moved here more recently as refugees because of the war in Ukraine. This year we even had the General Consul of Ukraine in Houston, the president of Ukrainian National Women’s League in America, and the treasurer of the Ukrainian Cultural Club in Houston join us at the event. We had a Ukrainian Christmas performance organized by the Ukrainian Musical Theatre in The Woodlands featuring many other volunteers, a word of greeting from the General Consul and Pastor Russell Johnson, plus a potluck dinner with traditional Ukrainian food, Christmas carols, and gifts for the kids.

This event would not have been possible without the 70+ faithful American friends of Ukraine who supported us. Faith Bible Church (who also hosted us) and WoodsEdge Community Church provided volunteers, and many other individuals served us, prayed for us, gave towards this event, set up and cleaned up, and donated and wrapped gifts for kids. It is a joy to see how God is expanding the vision He gave for holding the first "Ukrainian Christmas Together" several years ago.

Please join us in prayer for God’s Kingdom to be expanded among the Ukrainian community!

(And don't miss the video recap of this event!)
